The mission of the Jack Robert Young Memorial Foundation is to bring laughter to Westchester’s children through the pursuit of recreational, educational and cultural endeavors that will enhance and enrich their lives.
The
Youngs took action and
found their groundbreaking
project. They consulted
with playground designers
and landscape architects to
create a plan for “Jack’s Friendship
Garden”, a barrier-free playground with
equipment designed to accommodate children with
special needs, where children
of all abilities could play together. The playground at Huguenot Park was
selected for their first project because it is the most utilized playground
in New Rochelle.
Fundraising for Jack’s Friendship Garden at Huguenot Park is underway. Working with the Partnership for The Huguenot Children’s Library and The City of New Rochelle, the Jack Robert Young Memorial Foundation is accepting donations and organizing volunteers to complete the project by the summer.
